Established in 1985, Eiffel Software was one of the first companies to focus its activities entirely on Object Technology for enterprise development. With headquarters in Goleta near Santa Barbara, California, it is dedicated to helping the software industry improve the software process and the quality of the resulting products.
Eiffel Software designed the Eiffel approach to enterprise development and built the world's first Eiffel libraries, compiler and environment. Eiffel Software is the originator of the Design by ContractTM, the key to the construction of reliable mission-critical systems.

Our Activities
Eiffel Software's activities span four major areas:
- Software development tools. Eiffel Software produces and distributes EiffelStudio, the market leader in Eiffel solutions and the solution of choice for enterprise projects that require the best in quality and productivity. Used around the world by Fortune 500 corporations as well as small companies for their most demanding developments, Eiffel is also the choice of top universities for teaching software concepts at all levels of the curriculum. EiffelStudio provides full compatibility across all major industry platforms.
- Training. Since 1986 Eiffel Software has taught O-O concepts, both basic and advanced, to probably more people and in more countries than anyone else, through classes, seminars and tutorials. Since 1989, Eiffel Software has been the primary sponsor of the TOOLS conference series (Technology of Object-Oriented Languages and Systems). one of the most respected events in the field, now with four yearly sessions: US, Australia, China and Europe.
- Consulting. Eiffel Software's consultants take advantage of our unique object technology and software engineering expertise to help companies in their advanced projects, whether or not they involve Eiffel. We provide services across the whole lifecycle: analysis, architecture, design, implementation, maintenance. Our senior consultants are particularly sought after for architectural reviews to examine the initial design of a system and correct technical or managerial mistakes before they can lead to costly consequences.
- Application development. Since 1996, building on the strength of its technology, Eiffel Software has been actively engaged in application development for customers, either by itself or in cooperation with other software companies. The use of the most advanced form of object technology enables fast production of high-quality systems.
