I appreciate the quantity and quality of that work. That's not
what I mean by "formal".

I first raised this issue in the Committee in Digest #280
(23 July 1995). It would have saved me many hours if you
had indicated at that time that you did not intend that
indexing subclause to be present.

In Libs Digest 304, 21 Nov 1995 Christine Mingins wrote (as Chair):

That's what I meant by "formal approach".
