look, what I found in the news:

After the recent discussion about Eiffel and Java "capabilities". Why
doesn't the Eiffel community take a note from the Sun marketing
campaign. They have organised an applet building competition. First
prize in the local (Australian) competition is a Sparc 5 and first
prize in the international competition is $1,000,000 of Sun equipment!
I believe I have the right number of zeroes!
I discussed the idea with a number of people at the recently completed
TOOLS Pacific conference in Melbourne Aust. It received good
response. How about it NICE? As a promotion of Eiffel (we may even
be able to compete with the quality of components built with Java.)
and as a boost to the available libraries.
I for one would enter, even if the first prize is a little smaller
than $1,000,000.
Glenn.

There was no real response whan I suggested this some time ago to
- this newsgroup
- the PR "director" of Nice
- some board members
I still think that this would be a good idea .. but I dont know how
to get some more reaction from nice than just silence.
