But NICE is a standards body, and could use this exercise to promote the spread of standards-conforming Eiffel libraries. I therefore suggest a very simple scheme which we could start with a minimum of effort: (1) NICE maintains a repository of unsupported Eiffel code on an FTP and/or WWW site (called the Eiffel Treasure Chest). (2) Submitted code must be either public domain or subject to the GNU Public License. (3) The code may use only the standard kernel classes plus other classes from the Eiffel Treasure Chest. I don't propose that NICE attempts to test compliance with point (3). If submitted software is dependent upon other classes a user will soon point this out and the code can be removed from the Eiffel Treasure Chest.
