Subject: agenda - donations
To: NICE-ESG-Libs@atlanta.twr.com
Donations:
I suggest that Nice should accept donations - small, usefull libraries
which are not important enough to be topic of a discussion. To start
whis this we will supply two libraries for time/date/timespan and
for format. All libraries should be available under all 3 compilers
and should follow the GNU license.
Maybe we could find someone for the duty of a "donation secretary" ?
Whats your opinion?
Agenda:
I suggest to put the following things on the agenda:
1. STREAMS/FILE - discussion of a systematic and open approach
- I will supply a paper next week
2. low level interface - to "external something" and all to_something
features in different classes
- all interfaces (ISE, Tower and SIG) are not optimal.
3. features out in GENERAL and all related topics - like the
append_something in STRING, print, and so on.
- I will submit a proposal next week
I will not participate in the ^ discussion - reading the recent
discussions I found that there seems to be some consensus now.
As a computer scientist I see no sense to know such things better
than people as Michael. We really should trust these guys. In fact
even Michael follows my advice (sometimes ;-) if compiler writing
is involved.
I am in holiday between 6th and 14th July.
