Date: Tue, 27 Jun 95 01:36:43 PDT From: bertrand@vienna.eiffel.com (Bertrand Meyer) Subject: Final dates for the Eiffel standardization workshop To: nice.lang@vienna.eiffel.com, nice.lib@vienna.eiffel.com Copy to: From: Bertrand Meyer Mailer: BOOM Dear Colleagues: Several people have indicated that they preferred the days immediately following TOOLS for the Eiffel standardization workshop. Unfortunately, I also received from Per Grape and Kim Walden a note saying that they had made travel arrangements based on the first announcement, i.e. they are leaving immediately after TOOLS. I have agonized for several days over what to do, but there seems to be only one fair solution: since no one reacted for more than a month after my initial invitation, it was only normal for Per and Kim to make their travel reservations according to the original plan. Moving the meeting now would be unfair to them. So the final date for the meeting will be at the time originally planned: Thursday to Saturday, 27 to 29 July in Santa Barbara, probably at the Red Lion Resort. My apologies for the hesitations; I was only trying to accommodate as many people's wishes as possible, but some of them were simply incompatible. (My colleagues at ISE and myself had made arrangements to be available on either date.) I hope that as many of you as possible can attend as this should be an important and rewarding event. Please tell me whether you will participate. The meeting is open to representatives of the language and library committees. Some people have asked about the possibility of bringing guests; that's fine as long as each guest is personally sponsored by a committee member. With best regards, -- BM
