I don't think comments of the form ``Bertrand seems to be the only
one to think that...'' are very useful:
- I always consult a lot of people - such as users and my
colleagues at ISE - before posting on technical issues.
- At some point I was also ``the only one'' to think that
something like Eiffel and the Eiffel library would be useful,
so such a circumstance should not automatically disqualify the
idea. (It also does not automatically qualify it.)
- Finally I think we have reached a better mutual understanding
than a few months ago with other people on the committee,
especially the other vendor, so that's not the best time to
spark dissension. I am confident that on most issues currently
debated we can, given some time, good will and the opportunity for
quiet discussions, reach agreement or at least acceptable compromise.
A clarification: if there is a veto right for implementors, it should
of course be for all implementors who are corporate members of NICE.
This being said, I won't make any more comment on procedural issues
(unless I have no other choice, i.e. to respond to an erroneous
message) until at least the August workshop. It is preferable to
focus on technical topics.
