Subject: LIB95-TWR-HASHABLE2
I have been told that the NICE committee will soon evaluate the possibility
of moving the functionalities of HASHABLE up to the root class. I am
currently implementing a version of the Persistence Kit that will work for
both the Eiffel and the Objective-C language, and I should say that
Objective-C makes my life very easy by providing a hash_code selector within
the root Object class. The fact that all Eiffel objects are not necessarily
HASHABLE forces me to use extra mechanisms which make the whole thing more
complicated than it should have been.
So I definitly think that moving HASHABLE up to the root class would be a
great thing.
Sincerely,
Herve Avril.
