The daemon dies with a segmentation violation

Problem

If you do not set the environment variables $EIFFEL4 and $PLATFORM to their appropriate values, starting the daemon will cause it to exit with a segmentation violation.

Fix

Simply set the environment variable EIFFEL4 to the pathname containing the delivery structure of the environment and the environment variable PLATFORM to your machine architecture and operating system type. The possible values are listed in Eiffel: The Environment. Examples are: sparc, solaris, sgi, alpha, linux, hp9000, .
